This update from Dave was received by text messages from India. It makes it easier to read if you understand where the texts start and stop.
Text 1: Am not able to email so I will send a series of text updates
Text 2: Had a good fist day of training in India. Around 100 pastors came through the monsoon. They were very appreciative
Text 3: Am on the road to another district in India. Four hour drive dodging pigs, goats, cows, camels and anything else that moves.
Text 4: Right now am pulled off to the side of the road for a passenger to throw up. My stomach has been upset for a couple days, I think because of food and pollution.
Text 5: I feel like the Parker family is my own. We all cried when I left the house this morning.
Text 6: The Indians are concerned about me going into Pakistan. They are all going to be praying
Text 7: After today’s conference I will make a mad dash for the airport. Flying to Pune India at the invitation of Sister Sookja whom I met the last time I was in Korea.
Text 8: Witnessed a massive street fight last night in the street outside the Parkers’ house. Very brutal. Probably 15 guys involved.
Text 9: I did get my lost bag back. It was delivered to the house. Wore special Indian clothes for a couple days
Text 10: I can tell that I am a difficult guy to translate. My vocabulary is a little bit beyond them. I’m trying hard to use simple language.
Text 11: One of the highlights of the trip so far was a ride to see the CTK bible college under construction in Marisipali.
Text 12: The College is going to be an outstanding facility. Two floors with living spaces below and classrooms above.
Text 13: On the way Yedidya and I had a conversation that was worth the trip. He needs to spend the last 20 years of his life developing leaders. Big implications.
Text 14: Will try and send pictures the next time I have internet. Thanks for your prayers.
